Cake and Filling

  • 1 box Angel Food Cake Mix Store-bought mix saves time but homemade works too.
  • 1 package Vanilla Pudding Mix Choose a brand that isn’t too sweet.
  • 1 tub Whipped Topping Ready-made or homemade whipped cream.
  • 2 cups Strawberry Filling Store-bought or homemade using cooked fresh strawberries.
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries Optional garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the Angel Food Cake according to the package instructions.
  • Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
  • In a mixing bowl, prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package instructions and set in the fridge.
  • Fold in the whipped topping gently into the set pudding.
  • Slice the cooled angel food cake into three layers.

Assembly

  • In a serving dish, layer components starting with a layer of cake, then strawberry filling, and the creamy pudding mixture. Repeat until all components are used up.
  • Finish with a nice layer of pudding on top.
  • Chill the assembled dessert in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  • Garnish with fresh strawberries before serving.

Notes

Make sure your angel food cake is completely cooled before slicing to avoid tearing. Don't overmix the whipped topping with the pudding for the desired fluffy texture.
