Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups Chex cereal (rice or corn) This is the crunchy base; it soaks up flavor without falling apart.
  • 2 cups pretzels (mini twists or sticks) For bite-sized salt and structure.
  • 2 cups cheesy crackers (think Cheez-It style) They bring cheddar-y comfort and a denser crunch.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (unsalted is fine) This helps the ranch mix adhere and toasts everything beautifully.
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz) The flavor MVP — tangy, herby, instantly familiar.
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (optional) Adds protein and makes the snack feel more substantial and adult-friendly.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a very large bowl, combine Chex cereal, pretzels, cheesy crackers, and mixed nuts if using.
  • In a smaller bowl, mix together melted butter and ranch seasoning until smooth.
  • Drizzle the ranch butter over the cereal mixture, tossing gently to coat evenly.
  • Spread the mixture on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.

Baking

  • Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.

Notes

For best results, use parchment paper or a silicone liner for easy cleanup and even heating. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. If you want a lower-sodium mix, use unsalted nuts and low-salt pretzels.
